Facilitating structured CSO Partners Dialogues on Gender

Data from the MyJustice Myanmar Justice Survey  confirms that justice is seen as an ideal rather than a reality or a right. People’s decision-making around the choice of redress mechanism is based on the kind of disputes they experience, the disputes they consider worthy of redress as well as a prior judgement of whether a decision will go in their favour or not. It also seems to depend on gender, economic class and social identity parameters. Other research also confirms that social norms and cultural practices are key predictors for how men and women might experience rights, services and opportunities differently . Justice is experienced by different people differently, based on their gender, social class and ethnic identity.

Objectives of the assignment:

MyJustice, commissioned a gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) assessment of its programme to better understand whether MyJustice and its partners are taking these concerns into account when designing and implementing programmes. Based on the MyJustice GESI findings and the capacity development strategy, MyJustice seeks a consultant(s)/organisation to design and facilitate structured dialogues between MyJustice CSO partners to discuss and debate how gender impacts people’s access to justice and whether our programmes and solutions are appropriate and tailored for different needs.
