Improving Access to Legal Services, Legal Representation and Advice for the poor and vulnerable in Mon State 

Mawlamyaing Justice Centre (MJC) provides free legal aid with a view to improve access to justice and legal services for the poor and disadvantaged in Mon state. MJC also seeks to improve knowledge and awareness of community members and leaders with regards to justice issues and legal aid. The program aims to redress the balance between prosecution and defence in order to improve the outcomes for the criminally accused. It also offers the survivors of gender-based violence and child abuse the opportunity to seek redress in the formal justice system. It also focuses on development of technical and practical skill of the justice centre lawyers to provide quality legal representation.
